How You Can Help Your Local Hospital & Healthcare Workers
We have received a tremendous outpouring of support from our community during the COVID-19 pandemic, and many people have asked us how they can help. There are three big ways to do that: donate personal protective equipment (PPE), place a sign in your yard showing support and post your support on social media using #hillsdalestrong.
Donate PPE
The following items are needed by the hospital to ensure an adequate supply as the pandemic continues and the number of local cases increases:
- UNOPENED N95 or higher health-grade or construction-grade masks
- UNOPENED Nitrile or latex-free exam gloves (all sizes, no latex or vinyl, please)
- UNOPENED Procedure or surgery masks (single-use)
- UNOPENED Bleach wipes
- UNOPENED Isolation gowns or surgery isolation gowns
- Cloth or homemade masks (multi-use)
- Empty pump bottles (from hand sanitizer, soap, etc.)
To donate, individuals can come to the hospital and check-in with the staff at the yellow screening tent. They will direct them to the appropriate outdoor drop-off location.
Yard Sign Support
Starting Thursday, April 2, signs will be available on the front lawn of the hospital on Howell Street, as well as the nearby yards or grassy areas at all the hospital’s locations for a no contact pickup. Community members are encouraged to grab one on their way home from the grocery store, dropping off donations to the hospital or during other approved outings under the stay home order. The hospital is also encouraging people to pick up signs for multiple households when possible, whether for a few family members or neighbors.
Giving
A gift of $25, $50 or more will help support Hillsdale Hospital during and after the COVID-19 outbreak, so we can bring the next generation of care to the next generation of patients.
