Hillsdale Hospital Named Best 2019-2020 Nursing Home
U.S. News & World Report Recognizes Facility for Seventh Time
WASHINGTON, D.C.—Hillsdale Hospital is among the 19 percent of U.S. skilled nursing facilities recognized as a Best Nursing Home by U.S. News & World Report. The hospital earned this status by achieving the highest possible rating—“High Performing” —for Short-Term Rehabilitation. The Best Nursing Home designation is given only to those that satisfy U.S. News’s assessment of the appropriate use of key services and consistent performance in quality measures.
“It’s an honor to have our facility named a best nursing facility for Short-Term Rehab for the seventh year in a row,” Tricia Masarik, vice president and skilled nursing facility administrator, said. “This just doesn’t happen without the dedication and hard work of the staff. Each person has a role in this award. We couldn’t do it without them.”
Now in its tenth year, the U.S. News Best Nursing Homes ratings offer comprehensive information about care, safety, health inspections, staffing and more for nearly all 15,000-plus nursing homes in the U.S. The ratings reflect U.S. News’ exclusive analysis of publicly available data using a methodology it defined that evaluates factors it has determined most greatly impact patient and resident care, safety, and outcomes.
“The U.S. News Best Nursing Home ratings hone in on measurements like emergency room visits, quality of staff and proper distribution of medical and physical therapy to help families make an informed decision,” said, Kim Castro, editor and chief content officer of U.S. News.
This year, U.S. News expanded the factors included in the Short-Term Rehabilitation rating, which assesses the care facilities provide to patients staying fewer than 100 days. The quality measures include consistency of registered nurse staffing, use of antipsychotic drugs and success in preventing falls.
