HILLSDALE — For the sixth consecutive year, Hillsdale Hospital’s “Mac” McGuire Skilled Nursing Facility/MacRitchie North has earned top honors being ranked as one of Michigan’s top Skilled Nursing Facilities.
U.S. News & World Report recently released its annual Best Nursing Home ratings, highlighting the top nursing homes in each state and nearly 100 major metropolitan areas.
At the top of the Michigan Nursing Homes list are those with a high rating from the Federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services for their overall performance in health inspections, nurse staffing, and quality of medical care. U.S. News evaluated more than 15,000 homes nationwide, in every state and nearly 100 major metropolitan areas. This year, nearly 2,300 nursing homes earned the designation of a U.S. News Best Nursing Home, with Hillsdale Hospital being one of them.
From ratings in health inspections, nurse staffing, and measures of medical quality of care, Hillsdale Hospital also met health and safety standards for food preparation and other nursing-home activities in the latest three state inspections. Such inspections are conducted at least every 15 months.
“This is a true honor to receive this rating from U.S. News & World Report for the sixth consecutive year” said Duke Anderson, President & Chief Executive Officer at Hillsdale Hospital. Hillsdale Hospital is committed to providing quality compassionate care and strives to ensure the best patient experience.
The hospital also received recognition for Best Short Stay Rehabilitation. This new rating aims to provide patients with a clearer view of the quality of care provided by nursing homes to short-stay patients in need of intensive rehabilitation or nursing services before they return home after a surgery, stroke, accident or illness. Out of nearly 13,000 nursing homes that were evaluated, 2,042 earned a High-Performing rating in Short-Stay Rehabilitation.
