Support our mission to be a guardian of healthcare services for Hillsdale County
We’re fortunate to have a thriving rural hospital providing critical services while continually adding specialties and customizing care to meet the health needs in our community. This mission started in 1915 when Dr. & Mrs. T.H. Midgley founded what is now Hillsdale Hospital. Today, we offer comprehensive care for you and your family, including family medicine, orthopedic surgery, short-stay rehab and everything in between.
Our goal is to continue expanding services, improve our long-term stability, and provide the best, most up-to-date care as science and medicine continue to advance.
Because we’re a non-profit local hospital, we rely on donations from our community and value their role in fulfilling our mission. Your support of our hospital is critical to the health and wellbeing of our county.
Your gift will help fund key projects and services so we can bring the next generation of care to the next generation of patients. Some of our current initiatives include:
Accessibility
We are making it easier for our patients to get the care they need when they need it. For many in our community, it’s difficult to take time off work or travel all the way into town for an appointment. That’s why we’ve made primary care and family medicine accessible with telehealth options and same-day appointments.
Expanded Services
While many rural healthcare providers are eliminating services, offering less and less, we are doing the opposite. In the past few years, we’ve introduced urology, vascular care, neurosurgery and more to residents who previously would have traveled outside the county to receive care. More new services are coming soon, and we can’t wait to share them with the community.
Strategic Partnerships
We know that the best way to provide the best care is to build relationships with partners who meet our standards for high-quality, patient-centered care. We have partnered with the University of Toledo Medical Center for orthopedics and the University of South Florida for our Center for Pain Management. We recently developed our Center for Advanced Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine, offering a multi-disciplinary approach for inpatients, outpatients and home-bound patients.
Facility Improvements
As our facility ages, we continue to invest in its future by renovating and upgrading our space. Last year, we created a new outpatient lab at the front of the hospital, relocating the gift shop to a new space next door to the cafeteria. We completed a new activity and dining room on the McGuire short-stay rehab unit. We replaced our heating, ventilation and air conditioning unit on the main hospital building with a brand-new unit. We have more exciting changes and upgrades on the way, including better space for patients and families who are waiting for care or waiting for their loved ones receiving care.
