Jonesville native O’Dell joins Bediako, Sinischo at Hidden Meadows OB-GYN
HILLSDALE, Mich.—Hillsdale Hospital announced today the introduction of Dr. Danyelle O’Dell to its Hidden Meadows OB-GYN practice. The expanded location at Three Meadows Medical Building is also the new home of Dr. Alfred K. Bediako’s practice previously located at 1711 S. Hillsdale Road.
“We are excited to create more access for OB-GYN patients here in Hillsdale by bringing both Dr. Sinischo and Dr. Bediako into one practice location, while adding Dr. O’Dell to the group,” Rachel Lott, director of marketing and development said. “In addition, bringing Dr. O’Dell on board provides patients the opportunity to select a female OB-GYN if they prefer.”
O’Dell, a Jonesville native, attended medical school at Michigan State University’s College of Human Medicine. She completed her OB-GYN residency at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing.
“We often recruit providers from other parts of the state and country,” Lott said. “But we are also cultivating our own local talent through tuition assistance and future employment. By supporting the education and career growth of members of our own community, like Dr. O’Dell, we develop and employ the providers we need to care for our patients.”
At Michigan State, O’Dell co-lead the Christian Medical & Dental Association student group and the OB-GYN and Women’s Health student group. During her residency, O’Dell worked on a postpartum education quality improvement project and research on maternal and fetal outcomes after increased resident supervision in teaching hospitals. She also served as the chief administrative OB/GYN resident at Sparrow Hospital in the final year of her residency.
“I am absolutely thrilled to be back in Hillsdale and serve the community that raised me,” O’Dell said. “It’s a dream come true for me.”
