Hillsdale Hospital’s Center for Pain Management is a pain clinic that provides a multi-disciplinary approach to relieve, reduce or manage pain to improve patients overall quality of life through minimally invasive techniques specifically designed to treat painful conditions.
Possible Treatments
Following a thorough medical history and physical examination, patients are offered a broad range of treatment options that can be used to improve their pain condition, including, but not limited to, the following:
- Epidural Injections (cervical, thoracic, lumbar, and caudal) use local anesthetic and steroid medications injected into the epidural space to relieve pain or diagnose a specific condition.
- Facet joint injections are used to determine if the facet joints are the source of pain; these injections can also provide pain relief.
- Nerve, root, and medial branch blocks are injections performed to determine if a specific spinal nerve root is the source of pain. These blocks can also be used to reduce inflammation and pain.
- Sacroiliac joint injections are used to determine if the sacroiliac joints are the source of pain; this injection can also provide pain relief.
- Sympathetic nerve blocks (stellate nerve block, lumbar sympathetic plexus block, ganglion impar block) are used to diagnose and treat sympathetically maintained pain.
- Intra-articular joint injections (hip, knee, shoulder) use local anesthetic and steroid medications injected into the joint to relieve pain or diagnose joint pain.
- Peripheral nerve blocks (iliohypogastric, ilioinguinal, genitofemoral, greater occipital nerve) use local anesthetic and steroid medications to relieve pain.
- Paravertebral nerve blocks use local anesthetic and steroid mediations to relieve thoracic chest wall and rib pain.
- Trigger point injections use local anesthetic and steroid medications to relieve myofascial pain.
