The Dempster W. Muffitt Center for Psychiatric Care provides a full continuum of care that includes evaluation, crisis stabilization, treatment, education, prevention, and aftercare to meet the needs of adult patients. Services are designed to encourage the least restrictive level of care that is clinically appropriate. Crisis intervention and short-term acute inpatient care is available to stabilize individuals by providing the highest quality medical and psychiatric resources. Coordination with outside clinicians, social service agencies, and patient families helps to ensure a smooth transition among levels of care.
Admissions can occur 24 hours a day, seven days a week for adults 18 years of age and older. All patients are admitted under the care of a psychiatrist. Staff members will personally assist with program admission and referral procedures.
